Review

Thank you all again for being part of anther great Corporate Challenge Golfing Event.
With the Weather Gods on side we were blessed with another perfect day and another perfect course.
Welcome to the new teams for the event Quantum Home loans, Nomad Modular Building, Evergreen Golf and the boys from Joondalup/Royal Fremantle.
I hope it was a great introduction to the Challenge and you will join us for future events.

Thanks must go to all the staff at Lk Karrinyup (Tara, Shevaun and Fiona and the ground staff) for providing both a wonderful golf course and some great hospitality.
Lk Karrinyup is such a brilliant strategic design which places great emphasis on rewarding good shots and punishing errant ones. (Of which our group hit a few!!)
The exceptional use of the land, rolling fairways and perfect bunkering make for some amazing views from the tees and the playing and putting surfaces only further added to the joy of playing the course. It really is one of the finest facilities in Australia and as the hosts of the Corporate Challenge Events we value their support of the event and hope it remains a Corporate Challenge Venue in the years to come.

Apologies to those teams at the end of the field who with bravery just managed to finish their rounds in the fast fading light.
This is our only single tee start for the year and we will make appropriate arrangements for next year so this does not happen again.

Congratulations to the Winners Gareth McKean and Ivan Osborne of the Rexel Group team who must have sunk a few big ones and played some great golf with a winning score of 63.5.A really great effort as the were the last team in!!!
Congratulations also to the Axis Financial Group Teams who finished 2nd and 3rd with an equal score of 64.75 Mark Horn and Michael Jagiello won on a count back to Geoff Bowdler and Ian Liddell. Geoff Bowdler and Terry Roads were the nearest to pins and Remick Reed and Rob Miller showed their muscles with the longest drives.

Thanks must go to our major sponsors AXIS Financial Group for their ongoing support of the event and Emma our injured Golf Professional. We wish her a full recovery and hope she can start saving us off the tee again as well as around the greens soon. Also thanks to Gage Roads for their contribution to the prizes.

Our next event….
The WA Golf Club
In 1885 when Charles Pott and Richard Sherwood bought 110 acres of bushland on the rolling, wooded slopes of Mount Yokine, their dream of creating a golf course began. However it was not until 1928 that the vision was finally realised and The Western Australian Golf Club (Inc) was founded. Today, The Western Australian Golf Club is one of the State’s most prestigious clubs. The WAGC is renowned for its outstanding championship course and welcoming, friendly members. The course can lay claim to one of the most unique layouts in WA Golf. There are huge elevation changes, blind tee shots, narrow fairways and greenside drop-a way’s that truly stimulate the senses of any golfer.

Thanks again.
See you on-course.
